Christians only:Christians and the old laws?

Some one recently told me that Christians should never get tattoos-that they are sin.While I know the verse they get this idea from,I believe that they are wrong.While some people may not like tattoos I feel that Christ fulfilled the old laws requirements for us-just as we do not have to follow the dietary requirements.So if we we should not get tattoos,we should also not eat pork,or shave-right?Has anyone else been faced with this debate?I am so tired of people judging others about tattoos.I have a tattoo of a cross,and this person said that was wrong as well.Any thoughts?Please no ugly comments,Christian answers all others will be removed.
