What kind of mucinex or other medicine?

so i've been sick for probably a little more than a week, and its not going away. I don't really know what i have but my throat has been sore and i've been coughing so much my stomach muscles hurt. I felt like i had a little fever coming but it went away. These past couple days have just been horrible for me because I still have the nagging cough, but in addition my nose is congested/runny if that makes sense. It will be extremely runny where i will have to blow my nose every 2 seconds and all i can feel is mucus. I want to get over this fast because its important i be healthy the next few days. What kind of mucinex do you suggest i try? There are the three types, but one is for like cough, and one is for nasal congestion, but theres not one that has both. which would be more effective? The biggest problem i have right now is with my extremly mucus running nose. or should i try a different medication?
