Im getting pet rats, any advice ?

Advice? Don't waste your money on them unless you are feeding them to your pet python. If you are going to spend all of that money, get a couple goldfish instead. Get used to going solo in the friend category--not that your friends are trying to be superficial--they just might have a mainstream reaction to these rodents, which would be to head far away from the rats.
