What is the best free anti-spyware software.I cannot use defender by microsoft,will not install.?

trying to find the best free anti-spyware software.I used spyware terminator in the past on my old computer,it worked well.But i have seen a lot of bad reviews of the latest version.I tried to down load windows defender but at the last moment it would not load because some file was missing.
